I guess I can throw this in here. I've wanted to be able to create my own website for sometime now. I've seen Anne's oodles of art site, and it makes me want one of my own. I've tried this before, and I thought, maybe it'd be similar but it really isn't. I've also tried this and I had a hard time figuring it out. I'd like to find somewhere that's free, and would also like some tutorials of some kind, that would help make a website.

Oh ... I was just about to suggest to you Daniel's (from PBS) service but I couldn't remember the URL so when I went to find it, I noticed an announcement on it that said that the sign-ups for the free accounts have been disabled and that they may not offer free hosting anymore. I'll see if I can't dig up some other links for you a little later.

I tried his before, I didn't have much time available to try it then, and I think I bugged him too much with my questions lol
That would be nice, I'd really like to try somewhere that's easy to understand and free

I admit, I never tried his hosting ... though I thought about it once, even though I pay for hosting.

Its not that hard to understand, I was just so swamped with Finals for school, that it did seem hard.

You are listing all of them w. ads
I'll suggest either 110mb (without MySQL) or awardspace

I bought my own server about a month ago. Linux. But, I bought my domain name (http://vzerohost.com/) about a week ago. But before that, I used Bravehost. (http://bravehost.com/ or bravenet.com/) It worked fine for me. Try it out. You can get everything you need about scripts etc. at w3schools.com/ that's were I started.
