I get poison ivy almost every summer. One year it was really bad. Had it all over both arms. Other times I get some patches of it on my arms, my belly once, around my ankles and such. But I'm beginning to wonder if I'm not becoming immune to it now. I have more than once this summer alone had to take a weed eater to large patches of poison ivy and at the moment, I only have a couple small spots of it on my arm.
Anyone here get poison ivy easily?

Nope, I've never had it. Though that's probably due to the fact where I don't go out much especially not around where it can be found.

I have only had poison ivy twice or thrice in my life as much as I can remember, it's not very fun, I know that much!

Nope, it's not fun. When I had it on both arms if I didn't take some Benadryl to control the itchiness, I would have to wrap my arms in cool wet towels or I would sit there and scratch them to no end. LOL

I remember I squeezed most of the puss out of mine, took a really hot shower, and I got better fairly quickly.

My way was very dangerous and I would not suggest you trying it, that's for sure.

Poison Ivy. Ouch. :[. I have never had it before. Would you say that the effects are much like how Hollywood portrays the Poison Ivy effect? I would think your body will start building an immunity to it.

It's not that bad anymore. I do think I'm becoming immune to it, which is good considering I normally get it every year no matter how careful I am.

You could always wear a quarantine suit and you wouldn't get it.

You could always wear a quarantine suit and you wouldn't get it. Oh yes ... I can see myself outside mowing the lawn in some sort of biohazard type suit. Of course ... that's not necessarily a bad idea when I am using a weed eater because I usually end up covered from head to toe in grass cuttings, dirt, etc.

I have never in my entire life had it... -.- I have been told by at least a thousand people, that my imune defence is very strong, and my allergic reactions are at a minimum

I was cutting down hedges the last two days and Broken Angel and one of my other sister's were helping me. Of the three of us, I'm the only one who is ever affected by poison ivy and I ended up getting more on my arms. I guess I could be thankful that the previous patch of poison ivy that I mentioned before has gone away. LOL
