I figure this is okay to post here since its about graphics, if not please move accordingly Okay, well as a few people know flashing graphics on a page isn't very nice to someone who has medical conditions like seizures which can be started from them. Apparently, hardly anyone cares, and don't care that extremely bright colors, can also possibly set this off. The reason I'm ranting or so about this, is because of the fact that I've visited site after site that have bright skins, and blinding colors. Now normally, this would just blind me, but lately, I look at them and I start to shake slightly, and can't stop blinking. I had this happen just a few minutes ago with someone's site, and I had to close out of it immediately. This really angers me because time after time, I've sen sites that I really wanted to join but couldn't because of their images. Also, I've seen this on my friend's myspace, but I'm going to talk to her about. Oh, and I forgot to mention. I do have seizures, I've had at least 3 within the last year or two. I'm on pills now, but flashing images of color, and even bright colors now cause me to freak out. Its so annoying. </rant>

What about forums/sites that use bright colours but in a professional manner, so everything works nicely together?
Or is it literally any that has bright colours?

Like I can look at this site and I don't have a problem at all, but if I look at one that's like neon colors, or two bright colors shoved together, it doesn't work for me.

I feel for you, Candy. I don't have seizures myself, but if I see like, NEON GREEN coupled together with BRIGHT PURPLE, I die a little inside. I also find flashing graphics - like for banners (mainly banners) that are filled with rapid flashing (I don't mind a bit of animation) and bright colors do the same.

I've seen something similar to that actually. Honestly, I don't get why people do that.

I am not epileptic but I have seen some flashing graphics that really bothered my eyes if I looked too long.
There was the occasional person on PBS that would have a similar graphic to what Zero posted in their signature. And it was odd because sometimes the graphic was just to make light of the fact that some people have seizures because of them.
And forum designs, with either bright colors or flashing graphics ... oh my goodness. I have seen my share of really bad ones.

I've heard many people getting seizures from flashing graphics, which is actually disturbing to some people with seizures. I'm not exactly sure if there are any rules against flashing graphics around other forums as well.

Another thing for websites/forums, too many animated, sparkly images onone page, that take all day to load. imo that is worse than flashing graphics. lol

I've seen forums that practically everything was animated .. the background, the banner, the gradients, the ON/OFF icons, etc. I would never in a million years join a forum like that.

Yea, I have seen forums were the whole forum was that glitter animation everywhere. Including ranks. Not olny does it take long to load, but it just looks bad.

I'm afraid that my forum is one of those that is just to "busy" for some people - but I sure as heck hope that I'm not setting off anyones seizures. My Mom has Elilepsy so I know how debilitating it can be.
I have problems with migraines and will get one if I'm on a site that is too garish or flashes too much. I hate having to shoot myself up with pain meds after visiting a site like that.
