Why is it that people seem to believe that when you're gay or bi and you're a guy you're immediately into things such as fashion, interior design and things related to those? I have to wonder, I can only named one gay guy that I know that is into fashion, but none others that I know in my personal life that are.

I guess its because most of them on TV are. I remember seeing one guy on a designing show, can't remember what its called, and it was obvious that he was gay.

Yeah, but that's made it a sterotype that just isn't completely true.

My uncle is gay (doesnt everyone have a gay uncle?) and his boyfriend is seriously the most... nongay person I've ever met. He works on cars all the time, constantly playing video games, hates shopping and refuses to clean his fingernails. I still have my doubts on his gayness.

Yeah, but that's made it a sterotype that just isn't completely true. Unfortunately most of the world judges people by the stereotypes that they've heard. If you know anything about New England and you found out I was from there wouldn't you have some preconceived notions about me? Or if you heard that I was 50, wouldn't you assume some things about me? Since a lot of us are not involved in a "gay" communites and we only see how books and TV and Movies portray 'gayness' a lot of us make assumptions ('us' being used in a general manner)

I'm one of those people who have not been around gay people much, if hardly ever. I do however, know of two people in my family (cousins) that are gay. Both happen to be women and both were married to guys at one point but then got divorced and started dating women.
However, at the time, to look at either of them I would never have guessed that they were gay. Granted, I never really spent time with either one of them. Just saw them in passing for the most part.
So while there are some people who actually fit the stereotype (of what you described in your first post) I know there are those that do not fit into that.
I kind of feel that with TV and movies, they portray gay characters sometimes in a way that will ultimately make people laugh. Making them outrageous and over-the-top for entertainment purposes. So then what about the people in real life who are like that? Well, maybe they are like the class clown ... using that kind of humor to cover up unhappiness or maybe just because they like to be that way. No one really knows.

Well... Personally, all the gay men in my life are very flamboyantly gay. So, that's probably why I stereotype. Lesbians, however... I know one very masculine lesbian (totally butch, looks like a man), but the rest just look like your average heterosexual female. ^^

There was one once that I had a huge crush on, until he swore that he was gay... What about those guys who are total gym rats, with the huge muscles? Is there a term for them too? Flamboyant wouldn't be the correct term would it?

I always go "sorry! Not Interested. " I mean, sure, there are girls that I like, yes, but not an extreme amount.

I can see by your pictures that you are very handsome and not the least bit effeminate; you are going to become one that has to beat women off with a stick, especially if you release a lot of male pheromones.

I do look effeminate, well oh well. Thanks, I already am always beating woman off, so yeah, I already get that. Thanks. I looked up pheromones, but it doesn't make that much sense to me, though.

Oh you're a cutie and you know it! Pheromones, to my understanding are unseen things we release into the air to attract mates of the opposite sex.
